Title:
LATENT WATER-ABSORBENT CONJUGATE HOLLOW THICK AND THIN POLYESTER FIBER YARN AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2668301
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a latent water-absorbing polyester fiber having easy dyeability and spinnability to form yarn and exhibiting excellent water-absorbing performance, dissipation performance of absorbed water and soft feeling by alkali thinning treatment.
CONSTITUTION: The fiber is a side-by-side conjugate hollow polyester fiber having uneven denier and a hollowness ratio of 10-30% and composed of a polyester (the component A) containing ≤95wt.% of polyethylene terephthalate and a modified polyester (the component B) having an alkali-thinning rate higher than that of the component A. Thick denier parts having spontaneous thermal extensibility and a thin denier parts having thermal shrinkability are randomly distributed in the longitudinal direction of each fiber constituting the yarn and between each fiber. A number of lateral grooves extending in the direction perpendicular to the fiber axis to the hollow part of the fiber are generated in the component A of the thick denier part by alkali thinning treatment and longitudinal grooves extending in the direction of the fiber axis to the hollow part of the fiber are generated at the B component of the thick denier part.
