PURPOSE: To improve the operability of a washing machine and clothes drying machine with a laundry unit considered to take the higher efficiency of a washing operation, higher operability and higher space efficiency in the utility space in home into consideration.

CONSTITUTION: The washing machine 1 is housed in the lower part of a cabinet 2 and the clothes drying machine 3 is housed in the upper part thereof. The housing section of the clothes drying machine 3 is provided with a drying machine door 10. The washing machine 1 is installed on a sliding table 7 and sliding rails 8 are fixed to the cabinet 2 and the sliding table 7 to make the sliding table 7 drawable. The washing machine door 11 constituted by bisecting the door above and below is fixed to the sliding table 7. This washing machine door 11 is so constituted that the door bends at right angle at bisected point and that this state can be maintained by means of a hinge 12 and a stay 13.
