Abstract:
PURPOSE: To facilitate an induction of lead having a catching member to a desired position in a human body so that the lead can be engaged removably at an enlarged distal end of stylet. CONSTITUTION: A catching member 38 is connected to a flexible tubular casing 26 adjacent to a distal end 28 of a lead and contains an opening 40 having a neck 42 and a socket 44. The socket 44 has a shape to accommodate to the enlarged distal end 28 of the stylet 20. When the stylet 20 proceeds toward the distal end 28, the enlarged tip 36 enters the neck 42 being oriented toward the socket 44, so that it is engaged with the socket 44 entering it. Once the lead is engaged, the lead can be retracted and advanced partially, and can be rotated by operating the stylet handle.
