A light emitting device includes a light emitting element, a reflector arranged in the circumference of this light emitting element, and a phosphor layer that is arranged in the light receiving unit of this reflector and has a phosphor absorbing the light emitted by the light emitting element to emit the light with a wavelength different from that of the luminescent color of this light emitting element. In the light emitting device, the inclination of the inner surface of the reflector from the normal of the installation surface where the light emitting element is installed is ≥5° and ≤40°.
