This cosmetic composition for protecting a keratinous substance from light comprises one or more metal oxide nanopigments and an acrylic terpolymer of (a) 20-70 wt.% of an α,β-monoethylenic unsaturated carboxylic acid, (b) 20-80 wt. % of a monoethylenic unsaturated non-surfactant monomer different from the component (a) and (c) 0.5-60 wt.% of a nonionic urethane monomer which is a reaction product between a monofunctional nonionic surfactant and a monoethylenic unsaturated monoisocyanate in an aqueous carrier acceptable as a cosmetic.
