Abstract:
PURPOSE: To detect any open circuit trouble in a temperature detecting line so easily as well as to realize the promotion of miniaturization for space-saving, in a temperature controller for electric heaters such as electric carpets and blankets and so on.
CONSTITUTION: Temperature is detected by a temperature detector 36 from a current flowing in a negative cycle of ac power 11 in a temperature detecting line 2 consisting of a high molecular temperature sensing element 6 which is heatedly joined to a heater 1 and impedance is varied according to temperature. This controller is provided with a pulse generating part 44 which generates a pulse synchronized with the ac power 11 by a current flowing in a positive cycle of the ac power 11 in the temperature detecting line 2. This temperature controller is provided with a control part 43 which compares output of a potentiometer (temperature setting part) 40 with that of the temperature detecting part 36, thereby turning the heater 1 to ON or OFF, and in this connection, this control part 43 turns the heater to OFF when there is no pulse output of the pulse generating part 44.
