Abstract:
To provide a light source module which allows for accurate separation between S-polarized light and P-polarized light.SOLUTION: The light source module comprises a light-emitting element having a resonator composed of a photonic crystal structure and a polarized light conversion element which the light emitted from the light-emitting element enters. The polarized light conversion element includes: a polarized light separation layer reflecting first polarized light out of the incident light to a first direction and causing second polarized light out of the incident light to transmit through the separation layer in a second direction intersecting the first direction; a reflection layer causing the first polarized light reflected by the polarized light separation layer to be reflect in the second direction; and a phase difference layer which is provided in the optical path of the polarized light being one of the first polarized light reflected by the reflection layer and the second polarized light transmitted through the polarized light separation layer, and converts one of the polarized light to the other of the polarized light. The resonator has a resonance unit, the length of the resonance unit in the first direction being smaller, in a plan view, than the length of the resonance unit in a third direction orthogonal to the first and second directions.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
