Abstract:
PURPOSE:To control the optical axis alignment in a system by forming a recessed part in the optical waveguide part in the incidence surface of a substrate in the traveling direction of light. CONSTITUTION:The recessed part 5 is formed in the part of the optical waveguide 3 in the incidence surface in the traveling direction of the light. Therefore, only when incident light deviates to enter an improper incidence state, the incident light is reflected, so a photodetector receives its reflected light to detect whether or not the spot of the incident beam is converged on the optical waveguide 3. Consequently, the optical axis alignment is the system can be controlled according to the quantity of light.
