To provide a lighting system for an elevator capable of being installed in a car without being largely projected into the car and without requiring specific processing for the car.

The lighting system for the elevator is provided with electro-luminescences 8, 8A, 8B provided on each of surface parts formed in the car 1, i.e., a side plate 3, a car door 5 and a ceiling frame 6 and mounted with a light emission surface exposed; a spacer sheet mounted, for example, adjacent to the electro-luminescence 8 of the side plate 3 and having the approximately same thickness as the electro-luminescence 8; and a translucent decorative sheet stuck from above the electro-luminescence 8 and the spacer sheet. Further, the spacer sheet and the translucent decorative sheet are provided even on the electro-luminescence portions 8A, 8B of the car door 5 and the ceiling frame 6.
