To provide a lighting system which controls melatonin secretion of human bodies and suppresses the deterioration of the power efficiency, and to provide a method for controlling the lighting system.
The lighting system includes a first light source 10, which has a first light emitting diode 11 emitting blue light and a first phosphor layer 12 including a blue excited fluorescent material M1 which is excited by outgoing light of the first light emitting diode 11 to emit light, and which outputs white light. The lighting system further includes a second light source 20 which has a second light emitting diode 21 emitting blue light, a second phosphor layer 22 including a blue excited fluorescent material M2 which is excited by outgoing light of the second light emitting diode 21 to emits light, and a filter layer 23 blocking part of the blue light which is emitted from the second light emitting diode 21 and penetrates into the second phosphor layer 22. The second light source 20 outputs white light.
