To provide a lighting system which can make the end time of a mode substantially constant on the first day when power supply is turned on and after the next day when power supply is turned on and can improve user's convenience.
This lighting system is provided with a light source 50, an illuminance detection part 20 detecting illuminance in the surroundings, an illumination control means 40 which controls light output of the light source 50 in a first mode when an illuminance value in the surroundings exceeds a predetermined value and controls light output of the light source 50 in a second mode when an illuminance value in the surroundings drops below the predetermined value, a timer part 61 counting continuation time T2 of the second mode, a forced end means 63 ending the second mode of the first time after power supply is turned on forcedly, and a timer compensation means 62 compensating continuation time T2 of the second mode after the second time after power supply is turned on.
