PURPOSE: To perform stable printing generating no positional shift, by constituting the title printer so that recording paper is held to a predetermined position by a holding means and a line head is moved by a moving means to perform printing.
CONSTITUTION: In such a state that recording paper 2 is set to a holding means 5 and a line head 4 is brought into contact with the recording paper 2 under definite pressure through an ink sheet 3, the line head 4 is moved in the direction shown by an arrow A to perform printing. After the finish of one printing, the line head 4 is allowed to be spaced apart from the ink sheet 3 and moved in the direction reverse to the arrow A to be returned to the original position. As mentioned above, the line head 4 easily receiving moving control and operated stably as compared with the thin recording paper 2 is moved to perform printing. Therefore, a moving mechanism is simplified as compared with a conventional example moving the recording paper 2 and the irregularity of a printing start position or printing speed is extremely reduced and stable printing can be performed.
