Abstract:

To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of illuminating surroundings of a liquid crystal panel, and a refrigerator capable of irradiating the inside of a drawn-out storage compartment with light without increasing the number of components.

The liquid crystal display device 10 includes: a liquid crystal panel 2; a reflective plate 5 arranged on the rear surface of the liquid crystal panel 2; a board 9 arranged on the rear surface of the reflective plate 5; LEDs 3 arranged on an oblique front side of one-side side end face of the liquid crystal panel 2 for emitting light; and a light transmission plate 8 arranged between the liquid crystal panel 2 and the LEDs 3 for diffusing light; wherein the light emitted from the LEDs 3 is diffused by the light transmission plate 8, and a part of the diffused light illuminates the liquid crystal panel 2.
