To provide a liquid crystal display which is so made as to prevent arc discharge from being generated as a lead wire connecting a backlight-use lamp and an inverter unit creeps into a gap between an inverter substrate and a rear frame and comes closer to a reverse-phase side high-voltage terminal of an inverter transformer.
The inverter unit 8 is provided with an inverter substrate 81 loaded on a rear frame 7, an inverter transformer 82 mounted on the inverter substrate 81, and an inverter circuit formed at the inverter substrate 81. In the liquid crystal display 1 so made as to have a lamp 41 and the inverter unit 8 connected through a lead wire 45, a lead-wire inhibiting part 9 is formed at an outside 7a of the rear frame 7 for inhibiting the lead wire 45 from creeping into a gap between the inverter substrate 81 and the rear frame 7.
