Abstract:
To provide a liquid discharge head capable of preventing occurrence of such a defect that wiring connected to an upper electrode short-circuits electrically.SOLUTION: There is provided a liquid discharge head comprising: a pressure chamber; a diaphragm composing a wall surface of the pressure chamber; a nozzle discharging a liquid stored in the pressure chamber; and a piezoelectric element arranged at one side of the diaphragm. The piezoelectric element is equipped with: a piezoelectric layer deforming by voltage application; a first electrode arranged at one face of the piezoelectric layer between that layer and the diaphragm; and a second electrode arranged at the other face of the piezoelectric layer. The liquid discharge head has wiring connected to the second electrode and extended along the surface direction of the piezoelectric layer, and has no metal layer having the same electric potential as that of the first electrode in a first area which is the area between wiring and the diaphragm and in which wiring does not overlap either the second electrode or the piezoelectric layer in a direction perpendicular to the surface direction of the second electrode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
