Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent ejection defect and failure of a recording head, by avoiding contact between the recording head and a recorded medium or the like.SOLUTION: A liquid ejection device includes: a carriage 5 comprising a recording head 10 ejecting liquid; and scanning means causing the carriage 5 to scan in a main scanning direction. The carriage 5 includes: a jam detection sensor 16 detecting contact with a recorded medium P; and lifting means which adjusts a distance between the recording heads 10 and the recorded medium P by moving the recording heads 10. When the detection means detects contact, the liquid ejection device concurrently performs an operation for stopping scanning of the carriage 5 performed with the scanning means and an operation for increasing the distance between the recording head 10 and the recorded medium P using the lifting means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
