To provide a liquid jet head which has the reliability and costs reduced by preventing breakage of the head, and to provide a liquid jet apparatus.

The liquid jet head has a passage forming substrate 10 where liquid passages with pressure generating chambers 12 that communicate with nozzle openings 21 to jet liquid are formed, pressure generating means 300 which are fitted at one face of the passage forming substrate 10 and apply a pressure to the pressure generating chambers 12, and a protecting substrate 30 with a pressure generating chamber holding part 31 which is joined to the pressure generating means 300 side of the passage forming substrate 10 to cover the pressure generating means 300. A buffering film 400 composed of an organic compound is fitted in a region opposed at least to the liquid passages of a joining region to the protecting substrate 30 on the passage forming substrate 10.
