Title:
LIQUID PHASE GROWING METHOD AND DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2004006787
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide, at a lower cost, a large amount of a polycrystal which has a characteristic equivalent to a polycrystal which has been used for a conventional solar battery, and has few possibility of the disconnection of a grid electrode or the like even if used in a solar battery, and to provide a manufacturing device preferred for embodying this method.

In a liquid phase growing method, a polycrystalline substrate is dipped in a melt in a crucible in which a crystalline raw material is fused, and the polycrystal is grown on the substrate. This method comprises a first step of growing the polycrystal having a predetermined thickness and a second step of fusing a part of the polycrystal grown in the first step in the melt. A relative position between the substrate and the melt is altered in the first step and the second step, and the melts at different temperatures are brought into contact with the surface of the polycrystal.
