Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a locking device capable of improving workability of attaching a drawing unit to an image forming apparatus and preventing the drawing unit from being left unlocked to the image forming apparatus, and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A locking device includes: setting detection means for detecting that a drawing unit 76 is set to an apparatus body; a locking unit such as a locking mechanism 160 for locking the drawing unit 76 to the apparatus body; a driving source such as a driving motor 701 that drives the locking unit; and control means such as a control unit 121 that controls, upon detection by the setting detection means that the drawing unit 76 is set to the apparatus body, the driving source to drive the locking unit to lock the drawing unit to the apparatus body.
