To provide a lubricating oil composition for reducing wear and controlling oxidation and intended for extended drain interval application.
A lubricating oil composition comprising a major amount of a base oil of lubricating viscosity and a minor amount of each of the following: (a) from about 3.0 to about 7.0 wt.% of an ethylene carbonated-treated ashless dispersant; (b) from about 2.0 to about 5.0 wt.% of a borate-treated ashless dispersant; wherein the weight ratio of (a) to (b) is about 0.3 to about 0.5; (c) from about 1.0 to about 3.0 wt.% of a high overbased metal-containing detergent; (d) from about 0.1 to about 2.0 wt.% of a phosphorus-containing compound; wherein the weight percent of total phosphorus in the lubricating oil composition is no more than 0.08 wt.% based on the total weight of the lubricating oil composition.
