Abstract:
To provide a lubricant additive package using overbased calcium oleate, having low sulfur, low ash and low phosphorus and usable for oil compounding.
The oil soluble lubricant additive package comprises at least one overbased metal carboxylate having a total base number of from about 120 to about 360 and at least one detergent, wherein the weight ratio of the overbased metal carboxylate to the detergent is from about 1:1 to about 3:1. The lubricating oils comprising the oil soluble lubricant additive package and the machines lubricated by the oils are also provided. Several methods for lubricating machines are also disclosed.
