Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a low-tension overhead power transmission line strand having high heat resistance and high reliability in use over a long period and provide its manufacture.
CONSTITUTION: A steel wire or an iron-nickel alloy wire is carbonized, and a carbide layer is formed on its surface to the thickness of 10μm, for example. The surface of the steel wire or the iron-nickel alloy wire formed with the carbide layer is plated with zinc or zinc alloy.
