Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lower injection ingot-making method preventing the entrainment of an in-mold agent to a molten steel and further producing a high quality steel.SOLUTION: Provided is a lower injection ingot-making method where, when the inside diameter of a mold bottom is controlled to 1,000 to 2,000 mm, and a molten steel is injected from an injection port 5 of the mold bottom, a runner includes: a horizontal runner 4 facing the horizontal direction in the mold bottom; and the injection port 5 communicated with the horizontal runner 4, also facing the upper and lower directions and injecting the molten steel into the mold, the injection port 5 has a tapered diameter-expanded part 5a whose diameter is expanded toward the upper part at the edge part of the mold side of the runner, the injection flow rate of the molten steel per piece of the injection port 5 is controlled to 1.5 to 3.0t/min, the relation between the inside diameter D1[mm] of the horizontal runner 4 and the inside diameter d2[mm] of the injection port 5 in the lower edge side of the diameter-expanded part 5a satisfy (6.437×W+0.741×D1-10.849≤D2≤D1), the lag amount d between the center of the inside diameter D2 and the center of the inside diameter D1 satisfy (0.08×D1≤d≤0.5×D1), and the taper angle θ of the diameter-expanded part 5a satisfies (2°≤θ≤8°).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1B
