Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent increasing the number of part items when lubricating a sliding portion of at least a part of rocker arms, in an internal combustion engine wherein a rocker shaft rockably bearing plural rocker arms is supported in a rocker shaft holder fixed on a cylinder head, a valve operating characteristic changing mechanism capable of changing a operating characteristic of an engine valve by change sin oil pressure is provided on the rocker arms, and a hydraulic control valve for controlling the oil pressure of hydraulic oil supplied to hydraulic oil passage formed in the rocker shaft so as to communicate to the valve operating characteristic changing mechanism is attached to the cylinder head.
SOLUTION: An oil reservoir 97 capable of allowing drain oil from a hydraulic control valve 90 to flow out is formed on an upper surface of the shaft holder 44 so as to supply lubricating oil to at least a part of a sliding portion of the rocker arm.
