Title:
MACHINING METHOD FOR CAM SHAFT ON BASIS OF SIGNAL ROTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3260638
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cheaply machine a cam shaft without any necessity of facilities dedicated to machining by cutting the end of the cam shaft, providing a groove for positioning in a prescribed position in the cut end, and mounting a signal rotor having a machining reference means via the positioning groove.
SOLUTION: A key groove 5 is formed in a cut rear end 3aa of an intake cam shaft 3 on the basis of a type identification projection. Secondly, a key projection 11b on a signal rotor 11 is made to match with the key groove 5 so that the signal rotor 11 is pressurized around the intake cam shaft 3. A machining reference hole 11c provided in the signal rotor 11 can be thus emerged in the rear end of the intake cam shaft 3 in the same position as the processing reference hole being present before machining. The cam machining of the intake can shaft 3, etc., after this is thus implemented on the bases of this machining reference hole 11c.
