Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of suppressing adverse effect on the environment such as air pollution, further, efficiently applying microwaves to a target, suppressing the energy required for reduction to the minimum, and reducing and refining metal magnesium at a low cost.SOLUTION: Provided is a magnesium refining device 1 composed of: a heating chamber 2 heating and reducing a raw material 9; and a condensation chamber 3 condensing the raw material 9 evaporated by the heating. The heating chamber 2 is provided with a microwave source 4 as a heating source for reducing the raw material 9 as a mixture of magnesium oxide and a reducing agent in a pressure-reduction atmosphere. The heating chamber 2 is covered with a shield 6 made of a conductive substance, and has a resonance structure of a multi-mode or a single mode. The space between the heating chamber 2 and the condensation chamber 3 is provided with a cylindrical vapor outlet 8 with a choke structure formed of a conductive substance.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
