Title:
MAGNET-OPTICAL RECORDING DISK AND ITS REPRODUCTION METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2003323749
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a magneto-optical recording medium that can eliminate ghost signals and expand and reproduce magnetic domains without applying reproduction magnetic fields.

The magneto-optical recording medium has a recording layer 5, an intermediate layer 4, and a reproduction layer 3. The reproduction layer 3 is made of a rare earth predominant transition metal alloy, and the intermediate layer 4 and the recording layer 5 are made of transition metal predominant are earth transition metal alloy. The intermediate layer 4 shows in-surface magnetization at 140°C or lower and cuts off the exchange coupling of the recording layer 5 and the reproduction layer 3. By the static magnetic repulsion between the intermediate layer 4 and the reproduction layer 3, the magnetic domains 3A transferred to the reproduction layer 3 expand to the minimum size of the magnetic domain. Thus, ghost signals are eliminated.
