Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk device provided with a structure capable of surely avoiding a trouble that a pair of magnetic head sliders collide with each other when running on a load ramp.
SOLUTION: The magnetic disk device is provided with; a magnetic disk 10; a pair of magnetic head sliders 8 and 9 facing each other which access recording areas on the front surface and the rear surface of the magnetic disk 10; a head drive mechanism for loading and unloading the magnetic head sliders 8 and 9; and a load ramp 1 having slopes 2a and 3a which the magnetic head sliders 8 and 9 pass at the time of unloading, on a front surface and a rear surface. At the time of unloading, timings when the magnetic head sliders 8 and 9 run on the slopes 2a and 3a are shifted from each other. Since the magnetic head sliders 8 and 9 have vibration phases shifted from each other while they vibrate at the time of unloading, the trouble that the magnetic head sliders 8 and 9 collide with each other can be surely avoided.
