Title:
MAGNETIC ENCODER FOR READING MARK ON MAGNETIC TRACK CONCERNED
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH08212522
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To improve the resolution of measurement and to make it possible to supply accurate 'zero sign' reference signal by providing a magnetic flux guide having a pole material piece between a magnetic resistor and a magnetic medium.

The magnetic encoder for reading mark on a relative magnetic track comprises magnetic resistors 320 to 326, and magnetic flux guides 454 opposed to the resistors. The guide 545 have a series of magnetic domains 442 arranged along the medium to guide the direction of magnetic flux generated by magnetic medium 440 moving relatively toward the resistors 320 to 326. The guide 545 has a reading pole member piece 356 separated via air gap 352 having a shorter length than the minimum interval of the domains 342, and the end is disposed between the resistor and the media 440, 340 under the resistors 320 to 326.
