Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a magnetic recording device in which reading of longitudinal tracks is not damaged by securing the minimum length of joint intervals in longitudinal recording.
CONSTITUTION: A controller 1 has two independent memories--longitudinal in-point memory 3 storing the in-point indicating the recording start points of longitudinal tracks and helical in-point memory 5 storing the in-points indicating the recording start points of helical tracks. Likewise, it has two independent memories--longitudinal out-point memory 2 storing out-points indicating the recording end points of longitudinal tracks and helical out-point memory 4 storing the out-points indicating the recording end points of helical tracks.
