PURPOSE: To simplify a composition and enable the stopping of a capstan at the time of fine slow control, to be exactly detected, by detecting reverse operation with one-phase FG signal.

CONSTITUTION: A capstan motor 1 is driven by a motor driver 2. By the rotation of the motor 1, signal is generated from an FG 3. This signal is applied to a comparator circuit 6 via a measuring circuit 4, and is compared with a reference value from a reference value setting circuit 5. By a judging circuit 7, a time point for the motor 1 coming to reverse rotation from forward rotation based on output from the comparator circuit 6 is identified, and the motor driver 2 is controlled.
