To provide a magnetoresistive sensor with a large MR ratio.SOLUTION: A magnetoresistive sensor includes a base layer, a protective layer, a laminate that is between the base layer and the protective layer and includes a first ferromagnetic layer, a non-magnetic layer, and a second ferromagnetic layer in order from the side closest to the base layer, and an intermediate layer between the base layer and the first ferromagnetic layer, or between the second ferromagnetic layer and the protective layer, and a ferromagnetic layer in contact with the intermediate layer from among the first ferromagnetic layer and the second ferromagnetic layer is a Whistler alloy containing a Co group, and the main component of the intermediate layer is an element other than Co among the elements constituting the Whistler alloy containing the Co group.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
