This device comprises a shift lever 4, the shift lever 4 having a means connected to the switching operation component of a transmission by a transmitting device for transmitting the switching movement to detect the movement in the switching direction of the shift lever 4, a servo driving part 16 for moving the switching operation component, and a control device 18 for controlling the servo driving part 16. The shift lever 4 is constituted in such a manner as to be movable in two opposed operating directions against the force of a spring device relatively to the switching operation member.
