Abstract:
PURPOSE: To attain miniaturization by forming a lining plate of specific lining material, and also improving a shape of a braking ratchet wheel of a mechanical brake, so that a diameter of a hand wheel is lessened to place its axial direction position to a side brake side.
CONSTITUTION: In a manually-operated chain block provided with a load sheave 3 and a mechanical brake 17 including a braking ratchet wheel 12 engaged with a braking ratchet 16 and a pair of lining plates 13, 14, a cylindrical part 21 having a tooth part 15, engaged with the braking ratchet 16 in the periphery, is provided in the braking ratchet 12, so as to displace this tooth part 15 to a side of a side plate 1 relating to an inside swollen part of a wheel part 20. Each lining plate 13, 14 is formed of lining material consisting of heat resistant fiber, friction conditioner, etc., to provide a 0.35 or more coefficient of friction at 200°C surface temperature of each friction surface further with 90 to 120 hardness (HRS) to provide 15 (kgf/mm2) or more compression strength and 12 (100-3mm/mm) or more maximum strain performance.
