PURPOSE: To prevent blur density from degenerating by irradiating the entire surface of a contact screen with an ultraviolet ray in or after a drying process after blur dots are formed.
CONSTITUTION: When a screen film 1 which is already exposed to a pattern of blur dots is inserted from the side of a feed tray 2, the film 1 is developed, fixed, washed, and then dried while conveyed along a conveyance path 8 formed by providing many conveyor rollers 7 successively and the film is discharged onto a receiving plate 10. Many mercury-vapor lamps 11 are arranged at a drying part 6 on both latter-half sides of the conveyor path 8b and while the screen film 1 after being washed is dried with a hot blast, both surfaces of the film which are dried to some extent are irradiated with ultraviolet rays. The conveying speed and the distance from the conveyance path 8b are set preferably so that the total energy of the ultraviolet rays received by the film is ≥8,000mWsec/cm2. Consequently, the blur density is prevented from degenerating.
