To provide a method of manufacturing a helical coil, which can mold continuously the helical coil which is wound multiply on a doughnut-shaped spool, with high accuracy in such a way that a distortion is hardly generated in a conductor.
A conductor 6 is wound on a hollow bobbin 3 which is in a state that it is passed through a ring 1a of a doughnut-shaped spool 1. The conductor 6 is rotated relatively along the ring of the spool 1 between the spool 1 and a conductor molding unit 7 and between the unit 7 and the bobbin 3 and at the same time, while the unit 7 and the bobbin 3 are rotated along the ring of the spool 1, bending moldings within and without plane and a torsional molding are made to compose to perform the composed molding on the conductor 6 released from the bobbin by the unit 7, and the conductor 6 is fed out, whereby this molded conductor is wound on the spool 1 to mold a helical coil.
