Abstract:
PURPOSE: To make a laminar inorganic compound having a complicated structure and composition into a film, arrange the thin laminar particles correctly and manufacture a laminar particle film by turning the surfaces of the laminar particles hydrophobic, dispersing the particles on a water surface and making the particles adhere to a substrate.
CONSTITUTION: The surfaces of laminar particles are turned into hydrophobic and dispersed on a water surface, and then made to adhere to a substrate to manufacture a laminar particles film. On the other hand, the manufacturing processes are repeated to control the thickness of laminar particle film. In the manufacture, for example, a film manufacturing device composed of a trough 1, a movable barrier 2, a vertical immersion plate 3 and a surface pressure sensor 4 is used. At that time, the formation status and reproducibility of the film are presumed based on the measurement (π-A curve) of surface pressure (π) and development area (A). As a result, when the ratio between the dispersed liquid volume and the maximum development area is too large, the particles on a development surface are brought into contact with one another to form weakly composite particles, which is not preferable as it takes a long time to form desired monolayer particles.
