Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drug transport device having biological adaptability to transport a biologically active compound at a constant rate for a long-term.SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing a drug transport device made using thermoplastic polyurethane has the steps of: a) precise molding or injection modeling to produce a hollow tube having two opening ends with a desired physical size and being made with thermoplastic polyurethane; b) sealing one of the opening ends of the hollow tube; c) loading a container comprising a desired formulation comprising an active body and selectively a carrier, or filling a container with small pills prepared in advance; d) sealing the second opening end of the hollow tube; and e) pretreating the drug transport device in order to achieve a desired transport speed of the active body, followed by starting.
