Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a glass roll which not only prevents a tensile force generated by the winding of a winding unit from acting on a glass film ribbon of a conveyance unit, but can wind the glass film ribbon continuously.SOLUTION: A sagging part 9 in which a glass film ribbon sags is provided between a transverse conveyance unit 4 and a winding unit 5. By supplying a protective sheet ribbon S so as to pass below the sagging part 9, a protective sheet ribbon supply unit 6 can receive the subsequent glass film ribbon G conveyed from the transverse conveyance unit 4 due to the protective sheet ribbon S passing below the sagging part 9 even when the glass film ribbon G is broken.
