Abstract:
To provide a method for manufacturing a glass article, capable of molding even glass having molding difficult for the conventional overflow down draw method and easily devitrified while suppressing the devitrification of the glass.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a glass article comprises: a molding step S2 of molding molten glass GM into a plate by a molding 4 to mold a glass ribbon GR; and a cooling step S3 of cooling the glass ribbon GR molded by the molding 4 while conveying it in the longitudinal direction. The molding 4 includes an overflow groove 9 having the supplied molten glass GM and a side surface 15 for dropping the molten glass GM flowing out from the overflow groove 9; and the molding step S2 molds the glass ribbon GR in which one surface GRb is a surface formed by side surface 15 and the other surface GRa is a fire polished surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
