Abstract:

To provide a manufacturing method which, in a process for painting a metal oxide powder on a ground layer, reduces no-uniformity of the metal oxide powder dispersed on the ground layer.

There is provided a manufacturing method of a plasma display panel with an electrode, a dielectric layer and a protection layer being formed on a substrate. In the manufacturing method, the protection layer is formed by the following steps: forming a ground layer made of a magnesium oxide on the dielectric layer formed on the substrate; painting on the ground layer a paste containing a crystalline powder of an organic solvent and a metal oxide; and drying the painted paste. In the drying step, an exhaust speed of a dry atmosphere is controlled for a period from the atmospheric pressure to vaporization of the organic solvent.
