Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a water-absorbing resin having high reproducibility of particle size distribution.SOLUTION: A method for producing a water-absorbing resin includes: a hydrous gel production step of polymerizing a water-soluble ethylenic unsaturated monomer using a polymerization initiator containing at least a water-soluble azo-based compound to produce hydrous gel of a crosslinked polymer; a crushing step of crushing the hydrous gel; a drying step of drying a crushed product obtained by the crushing step; and a crushing step of crushing a dried product obtained by the drying step, where the crushing step includes crushing the hydrous gel under temperature atmosphere of lower than 65°C.SELECTED DRAWING: None
