PURPOSE: To provide a camera having a finder with no pupil distortion.

CONSTITUTION: A mask 20 for the finder of a camera 10 is spool-shaped for eliminating the influence caused by the pupil distortion of finder showing a barrel-shaped periphery. The mask 20 is provided as the component or integrated part of camera housing and arranged on the front face of the camera 10 or inside the cavity of a finder optical device. The mask 20 includes an opaque block around the opening of spool-shaped form, and its one side faces the eye of a person watching in darkness and decreases apparent reflection. The mask 20 can be positioned in contact with the surface of finder optical device closest to an object or separately in front of optical device just for a nominal distance depending on the structure of camera assembly and decrease the influence of pupil distortion, which is to be exerted upon the eye of watching person, caused by the type of finder view.
