PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material transportation device capable of safely transporting a material holder along with a material to an installation place of a predetermined vacuum device, and easily installing the material holder along with the material in the vacuum device.SOLUTION: In a material transportation device 10, a fixing base 26 for fixing a shaft part 21 of a connecting rod 11 is made at one end of a material holder 12A. The fixing base 26 includes: a keyhole into which the shaft part 21 and a fitting protrusion 22 are removably and rotatably inserted; a first recess made at a point separated at 90 degrees in the rotation direction from an initial insertion point of the shaft part 21 with respect to the keyhole, and making the fitting protrusion 22 fit to the first recess against the energizing force of a coil spring 15; and a second recess made at a point separated at 90 degrees in the rotation direction from the first recess, and making the fitting protrusion 22 fit to the second recess against the energizing force of the coil spring 15. The recess dimension in an axial rearward direction of the first recess is smaller than that in an axial rearward direction of the second recess.
