PURPOSE: To obtain an MD loading device capable of improving the degree of freedom in the constitution of a door part by suppressing the space between the door part at the closed time and a main body part to the minimum.

CONSTITUTION: In the MD loading device constituted in such a manner that a cartridge holding part 3 of the MD is provided on the door part 1 integrated to the main body 5 of an MD player, etc., and the cartridge loaded to this cartridge holding part 3 is held so as to face onto a recording/reproducing part of the main body part 5, a movable base 4 capable of moving forward/ backward in the loading direction of the cartridge is arranged between the door part 1 and the cartridge holding part 3 of the MD loading device. Then, a moving means 6 is provided on this movable base 4 to make the movable base 4 move in the loading direction of the cartridge linked with the opening/ closing angle when the door part 1 is closed.
