PURPOSE: To quantitatively and qualitatively determine an adenyl-containing substance easily, specifically, and with high sensitivity by obtaining luminous activity from a chemoluminescent substance, which is derived from the reaction of an adenyl with a specific substance, and utilizing this activity as an index.
CONSTITUTION: An adenyl included in an object to be measured such as adenine, adenosine, DNA, or RNA, which is included in a sample of blood or body fluid, is made to react with an active substance having an expression of R1-CO-R2 in order to derive a chemoluminescent substance. In the expression, R1 denotes hydrogen atom and an alkyl, alkenyl, or alkinyl containing 1 to 12 carbon atoms, while R2 denotes an aldehyde or a radical expressed by a formula -CH(XR3) (X'R4) where X and X' are radicals selected from oxygen atom or selenium atom. The luminous activity obtained from a chemoluminescent substance thus derived is utilized as an index in measuring a substance to be determined qualitatively or quantitatively.
