A movement control part 40 controls movements of a mechanical parking device 10 in a normal operation mode or a movement restriction mode, which is received by an input part 42 of an operation panel 17. In this condition, regarding switching operations made on the input part 42 of the operation panel 17, mode switching inputs are accepted at the input part 42 only through particular operations, that is, operations that can be made by maintenance workers of the mechanical parking device 10. Accordingly, once the movement control part 40 is switched to the movement restriction mode by operating the input part 42 of the operation panel 17 when a worker enters the inside of the device to perform a maintenance work, unless the worker returns the control mode of the movement control part 40 to the normal operation mode by operating the input part 42 of the operation panel 17 again, the mechanical parking device 10 does not move.
