Abstract:

To provide a medium feeding device capable of preventing double-feed with certainty even when a distal end of a medium is curled.

An automatic document conveying device 1 includes a first separation means 15 on the downstream side of a feed roller 11 for sending out a set document, and a second separation means 21 further on the downstream side. The second separation means 21 includes a friction separation member 16 and a feed path restriction portion 22 with a part overlapping with the friction separation member 16 in the side view of the feed path. At the position of the second separation means 21, the state as if the feed path is closed in the side view of the feed path is attained. Thus, even when a distal end of a document is curled, the distal end of the document is surely brought into contact with the friction separation member 16 and the double-feed of a medium is surely prevented.
