Abstract:
To provide a metal absorption fiber that efficiently absorbs a heavy metal contained in a liquid to be treated but does not absorb alkali metal and alkali earth metal components, and a production method thereof.SOLUTION: A metal absorption polymer (20) that absorbs a heavy metal and cellulose (5) that forms a fiber are included. The metal absorption polymer (20) includes a metal capturing part (11) that has a carboxymethyl group (11') and is coordinated with a heavy metal (M), and a repulsion part (12) that has amine and prevents the absorption of the alkali metal and alkali earth metal in the liquid to be treated. Due to a hydrogen bond between a nitrogen atom (12a) of the amine of the repulsion part (12) and a hydrogen atom (5a) of the cellulose (5), the metal absorption polymer (20) and the cellulose (5) are bonded. Therefore, the heavy metal is efficiently absorbed and the metal absorption polymer fastly fixed to the metal absorption fiber can be prevented from the desorption.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
