Title:
METAL-PRODUCING ELECTROLYZER AND ITS OPERATING METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3705746
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal-producing electrolyzer and its operating method by which the deterioration of the working environment is prevented, the formed gas and metal are recovered more efficiently, and the oxidation of the formed metal is prevented.
SOLUTION: The upper space 19 of a metal collecting chamber 10 is allowed to communicate with a gas collecting chamber 18 through a communicating port 21 formed in a second partition wall 8. The formed gas which has been entrained by a circulating flow of an electrolytic bath M and leaked into the metal collecting chamber 10 is transferred to the gas collecting chamber 18 through the communicating port 21 and recovered from an exhaust gas pipe 20 along with the regular formed gas. The upper space 19 of the metal collecting chamber 10 is continuously sucked through a suction pipe 23 to prevent the formed metal from being brought into contact with the atmosphere.
